Brian Boltz from Environmental Manufacturing just stopped by our office and shared his amazing story of his family run business started by his father Bernie Boltz. The family has been in the business of recycling and re-purposing old newspaper, phonebooks, and egg cartons for over 20 years in Hawaiʻi. They turn the waste paper material into locally manufactured mulch (Hyrdo-Mulch), kitchen oil eater boxes (Whoa! Fat), large commercial-use oil change boxes, and various types of oil remediation absorbents. What’s so great about their business and value for Hawaiʻi is the fact that none of the paper waste material gets shipped off-island to the US mainland or Asia. Everything is manufactured here locally which means less carbon emissions from transportation and more local jobs!
The product that particularly caught our attention was their Whoa! Fat Kitchen Oil Disposal Boxes. Instead of pouring fats, oils, and grease down the drain or into jars, you pour them into these Chinese take-out style boxes. Using these disposal boxes prevent kitchen sink drain clogs, plumbing backups, and spills on the road after a garbage truck compacts a bottle filled with oil. The Whoa! Fat boxes save you $$$ on costly repairs, plumbing replacements, and city road hazards. It’s amazing that such a tiny box can have such a big impact.
The Oil Change Boxes can be found at Whole Foods and or at http://whoafat.com. Whole sale inquires are available through CP Distributions, LLC – chea@whoafat.com
